We are Edgard Carter and Karine Mollenhauer, a couple (marriage) of winemakers, and we started this project in 2014 with the dream of making unique wines that represent different terroirs from the south of Chile, with special emphasis in the human aspect behind them. This project is our job and family at the same time. Some of our helpers are our parents and siblings; wine is part of our life.
Our Project is based on Chile´s potential to make outstanding, unique wines, thanks to its diverse topography and soils, combined with an ideal growing climate situated between Pacific Ocean and the Andes range. We use this potential to our advantage to craft wines which mix elements of the new world, such as sharp and exuberant fruit content, with the balance and elegance of old world wines.
We work with viticulturists with a wealth of experience who manage their vineyards without the use of synthetic chemicals. In our own cellar, our wines are thought and crafted by us with the idea of returning the “trade” element to the profession, in such a way as it allows us to “split hairs” and enjoy working with our own hands. The winemaking process is detailed, but with the least amount of intervention possible, for example we use wild yeasts from the vineyards where we source our grapes and use gravity as opposed to pumps during the vinification process. All this is done to create frank, honest wines that truly express the Terroir from which they are born.
