Andrea and Carolina met in 2005 while working at Viñedos Emiliana. Later, by chance, they became neighbors, which created a bond that has endured until today. After Carolina's travels to Australia (where she discovered sparkling Syrahs) and Andrea's to California (where she learned about organic farming and wine production), they decided to start a project of their own. Motivated by a desire for innovation, Mujer Andina’s first wine was born: the 2012 LEVITA BRUT ROSÉ, a sparkling Syrah from the Maipo Valley. Its main distinction from other sparklers on the market is that it is made with a classically red variety, but vinified as a white wine at low temperature to keep its freshness and aromas. Furthermore, Levita is one of the few Chilean sparkling wines made with 100% organically grown grapes and using méthode classique, or the traditional method, as used in Champagne.
